On March 1st, 1976 Bob Hall opened Sunfair Chevrolet, Inc. in downtown Yakima, Washington which he had just purchased from W.H. “Bill” Wagner Chevrolet Co. Sunfair Chevrolet opened with 35 employees serving the greater Yakima area from four different city blocks selling new Chevrolet, used cars and trucks, full automotive service, parts, and body shop departments. The business soon outgrew its facilities and in 1978 the company moved into all new facilities on eight prime acres adjacent to the interstate freeway and Yakima Avenue. Franchises were added in 1981 (Isuzu), 1991 (Mazda) and in 1989 Hall purchased Lynch Motor Co. located on seven acres adjacent to the Sunfair dealership.

Lynch Motors sold Oldsmobile and Honda Automobiles, plus GMC trucks with full service, parts, body shop facilities and staff. The Bob Hall team of employees expanded to over 100 automotive professionals as sales of all franchises grew to lead the Central Washington automobile market in vehicle and service sales.

In 2005 the Mazda dealership moved into its own all new facility and the Honda dealership was completely remodeled and upgraded to state of the art for the industry as Sunfair Chevrolet got an all new face with expansion and refinish.

Family Tradition occurred in 2014 when Bob Hall’s daughter Jaclyn Midkiff and husband Jason Midkiff purchased the dealerships from very proud parents, Bob and Gayle.
Jaclyn, like her father, learned the automobile business from a very young age and spent several years in public accounting auditing and reviewing automobile dealerships across the United States. Jason learned the automobile business from a different path, spending 18 years in the retail tire and wheel business as General Manager of several same brand tire stores throughout the Pacific Northwest. Jason and Jaclyn are proud to carry on the Hall Family tradition of great customer service, selling high quality products and employing personnel and a strong commitment to community involvement to make Greater Yakima an “All American” model to raise families and grow a healthy business community.
